Lara's Trip to China
I started my trip with a flight to Amsterdam to pick up Wander,
the LINREIX representative in the Netherlands. Wander and I flew to
Gatwick and then on to Beijing where we met Phil of PBX. Phil,
Wander and I had a rainy afternoon to the Great Wall of China . . .
WOW, what an awesome structure!
Wander and I left Phil in Beijing and headed for Shanghai where we
met Sidney of LINREIX. Sidney was a most gracious host taking us to
see many interesting sights in Shanghai. Some of these sights were
the beautiful gardens of Yuyuan, Bund River Walk, and the Yuyuan
Market. Certainly, my most memorable sight will be our trip to the
top of the 3rd tallest building in the world, Shanghai World
Financial building. This was a first for Sidney and his friend Alex
as well. We all got a little queasy looking through the glass floor
and wall from 474 meters up! Did I forget to mention that I am
afraid of heights!
Sidney showed us the LINREIX offices where we were able to see the
different types of machines that are used to manufacture LINREIX S1
and S3 connectors. All of the personnel were very knowledgeable,
friendly, and meticulous. We were able to witness mid-stream
production quality control sampling, on site drawings for quality
control measurement and comparison, and segregation and disposal of
non conforming product.
Wander and I were treated to many fabulous meals hosted by Sidney
and his partner, Howard. One night we got to meet Sidney’s beautiful
wife, child and father-n-law! I experienced some firsts on the food
front: frog, Peking duck, and black chicken. These were big steps
for me as my favorite food is still Mac N Cheese!
I was sad to say “good bye” to Sidney, Howard and the gracious staff
at LINREIX, but I needed to get back to my family in the states.
Overall, I had a great visit to China and look forward to going
again! I hope you enjoy some of my
China trip pics!
Best always, Lara
